  1. Jim Mercer

This product is well-built, solidly constructed. In addition, it puts out a huge amount of light. The light is whitish (daylight-style), and is truly brilliant. Colors appear normal in the light, not shifted in any spectrum or “off”. It takes about 1/4 to 1/2 second from switching on to seeing light, but the delay is so small as to be meaningless, really.

One thing – the LED system apparently has an active cooling fan of some type in the base, so when it’s on, you’ll hear a little whirring sound – not loud, but it’s there. I bought two of these to replace my two 250 watt-equivalent CFL’s (which were beginning to fade, and often didn’t light up my garage when temperatures dropped. (My ceilings are about 10 ft. high)

I was looking to upgrade my MHL lights to LED. Ordered one of these bulbs as a test. I was concerned about the amount of light the LED was going to give out. There was some effort in removing the ballast from my existing fixture and rewiring it, but not difficult. Amount of light is about the same, and I have the added bonuses of instant on, no ballasts to replace, and lower operating cost.

Purchased this bulb to replace the 300 watt incandescent bulbs in the high fixtures in the center of our shop. I am very pleased with the amount of light they put out and the color of the light. They appear twice as bright as the 300 watt incandescent bulbs and the light is much whiter in color. If this bulb lasts, I plan on purchasing more to replace the incandescent bulbs as they go bad.
